Lochearnhead 2016 General Information
Next summer Hitchin and District Scouts will be taking 60 Scouts, Explorers and Young Leaders on an expedition to Lochearnhead Scout Station.
What’s it about?
Lochearnhead Scout Station is an old railway station, part of the Caledonian Railway which closed in the 1950’s and was purchased by Hertfordshire Scouts as a base to explore the surrounding countryside and enable Scouts to experience activities that would not usually be available to them. Use of the station is by rota throughout each summer for all Hertfordshire Scout Groups and every 4-5 years Hitchin and District Scouts have a two week slot allocated to take our Scouts to Scotland for a fantastic fortnight.
Our next expedition is in 2016 running August 6th to August 20th, and all places for Young People (aged 11-18) are now taken, with a waiting list in operation.
We hope to take up to 10 Network member (18-25) and there are still places available for them, so download the adult application form and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested. For Network we are planning a week of activity assistance and general help and then in the second week running a Network expedition of their choice
We are also hoping to provide a training opportunity for Gold Duke of Edinburgh/Queens Scout opportunity for Network members and older Explorers.
